I had said in the last post that Clay MIGHT be able to have the MRI as early as Monday and to not let him eat. I was actually surprised he was such a trooper!I told him "You MIGHT have to go to the doctor and if you do you have to have an empty tummy. They just want to see why you are having headaches!" He was FINE he asked for swirl cheese and root beer I told him I would bring them with me IF we went and if not you can have the cheese as soon as we find out they cant see you. At 9:35 we got he call he could be in at 1 and had to be at the Dayton Children's Med Center at 11:45 and could have clear fluids until 10 as I realized we had none other then water I called upon our awesome neighbors the Fischers who came to our rescue.
KC came home from work at 11:15 we dropped Abi off at our Neighbors and off we went. The Hospital got us right in and put a cool band-aids on that made his arm numb where the IV was going to go and stuff on his back that was different but did the same thing. Gave him his happy juice and off he went. Thy were able to look at the MRI right away and nothing was seen thus the Spinal tap was needed. He moved around very shortly after we got in the x-ray lab so he was sedated again. We got to watch him get the spinal which was pretty cool. His pressure from the spinal fluid was 28 and they drained it to a 20. The doc doing the spinal said that their was a few different versions of normal and could be high and need treated OR it could be just the high side of normal(20 is totally normal) Since he had a spinal they wanted him to lay flat for 4 hours, I thought GREAT you want a 4year old to be flat for 4 hours, what a joke. They sent us to "Almost home" (recovery) and KC went home to be with Abi. He stated waking up after 3hrs 15 min. The nurse said he could eat and I fed him (laying down)and after he could sit up he did and then 30 min later he threw up and they really wanted to make sure he was not nauseated when we left. He fell back asleep shortly and we woke him up about an hour later and he was OK. The nurse brought him a little Sprite and he drank it and was fine so I called KC (at this point it was 9pm he got Abi up) and came to pick us up. Clay took a wagon ride down to the door, I'm so glad I went with my gut and brought the barf bucket) as soon as KC pulled in the drive he used the bucket and back upstairs we went. The nurse paged the doc and we ALL waited. About 20 minutes later they said we could just go home and to just watch him and if he was still throwing up to bring take him to the base hospital or back to Children's. We finally got home about 10.
Dr. Burns talked to KC and I about the results of the tests is formally known as "Pseudo Tumor" which sounds super scary so they actually changed the name to "Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension." This means that for some unknown reason their is a high level of spinal fluid which causes swelling of the optic nerve, and causing headaches. This can be treated by an oral meds IF we can ever find it! Apparently they don't give this to kids much! NONE of the local Pharmacies carried it in a liquid form nor could they order it! KC JUST messaged me telling me that Children's would have to fill it. Dr. Burns is VERY happy with these results, this is something that can be monitored by an ophthalmologist and eye dilation and a fancy microscope! She was sure it was a not scary problem and she was right. All things considered we are very happy with the results we found he needed glasses terribly bad and the issue with the pressure. I am confident the Docs at our old base would not have taken us seriously, they did not with little things why would they big things. I think it is a God thing that their was the pediatric neurologist working the day we went in. Dr. Burns has been so upfront, supportive, nice, and that she had fallowed us so closely. We have been truly blessed!
blessed beyond words

Adventures with CD!
Sunday Clay told us he had a headache at 3pm and it did not really stop him from playing much but he still hurt. The later it got the more it hurt. Monday morning he woke up saying it still hurt and actually took a nap on his own in the morning(VERY not normal) KC got him in at the clinic in the late morning and were very surprised with what came of it. We saw resident Doc then her reported to his attending who just happened to be a pediatric neurologist(Dr.Burns) She was pretty sure it was just a virus but wanted KC to talk to her daily about how Clay was doing and if we thought of any other history.(they work in the same area of the clinic)I came home and talked to my mom and she reminded me that Clay had said over the summer on a few different occasions said "My head is not working right!" We did not think much of it just thought he was being silly. My mother-in-law remembered that also and that Clay was also sensitive to loud sounds. KC told Dr. Burns that and she scheduled an appointment with an ophthalmologist(on
Friday) and Clay passed all their tests with 20/15 vision! We were really excited about that but then when they looked in his eyes they found he could not see! His actual Rx is +4.25.(his actual glasses will only be half of that because of how kids eyes grow and change) Dr Burns had come with us to see this other doc and she said well that is the problem! As this eye doc looked more he found his optic nerve was swollen. So the next step is an MRI and depending on what that shows he would need a spinal tap. In Clay a MRI AND a SPINAL would require sedation. In a perfect world he would only need a Spinal depending on what the MRI said. In our world we have a 4 year old that could no hold still for either and we don't want to sedate him 2x. That means we are going to kill tests with one sedation. Today we ordered his glasses and some contacts for myself. He could have the MRI as soon as Monday I will keep facebook posted.

More shoes?!?!
My grandpa Kirk has been kinda off all summer. He has athritis and has been VERY sore. In the last month he has been super tired, more sore then usual, not eating much, and losing weight. Grandma had been trying to get some info from the Doc's to get him a different arthritis treatment and the doc came to the conclusion something else was wrong and he needed to go to the hospital(Friday 21)He had an irregular heart beat that was fixed and has had VERY low blood pressure here and there, but something was still not right. He had a upper GI Friday nothing. Saturday he had a ct scan and they found several spots on his liver equaling about a softball, and one on his lungs this size of a baseball, hidden by his heart to an x-ray. Today he had a biopsy on his liver and he should be released tomorrow. We will know more in a few days.
We are finising getting ready for our move and should have a house when we get to Ohio Nov 11. It has been just a crazy month and I am tired and just ready to have normal low key life. for our family it seems like the shoes just keeping falling. Even I should have ran out of shoes by now. I have expierenced the love of God, comfort and sadness all at once with the all the stress from this month. This really has kept me humble and knowing that God is in control NOT me and I am need to rely on his strengeth not my own and that it is ok to not be super human!

Continuing limbo a little more.
Sorry I have not updated this in WAY to long! So over the summer we really enjoyed staying with my parents and all the time the kids and I got to spend with all of our families! It was AMAZING! KC graduated second in his class at Ft. Sam Houston and really enjoyed his on the job training at Nellis AFB (Las Vegas) The kids and I flew out to Vegas and were really excited to drive back to Wichita with daddy. Little did we know it would really be a TERRIBLE trip. We had issue after issue after issue. The best part was getting to Co springs and spending the night with the amazing Wade's. We have had several things happen since then and are just ready to be in a day to day routine in our own home.
We are currently in NE, finaling out to go to Wright-Patterson AFB Dayton Ohio and a report no later than date of 30Oct. We accepted the assignment several months ago and have been waiting for orders since, we NEVER got them. KC finally asked and found out we probably would not get them until we go back to NE. This means we could not make arrangements to move until AFTER KC got to NE. That also meant that KC would most likely have to go ahead of us because the movers are usually scheduled several weeks out. So I would have to stay here, and he would have to go on. KC however was able to amend his order to 30Nov and the movers come 7and 8th of Nov then we will go together, that is what KC really wanted. Now we are trying to make arrangements to do a door to door move which would mean that our stuff could be dropped off at a house (assuming we have one) as soon as we get there. We could be in a house by the end of that week, WITH OUR STUFF!!!
So now we are just waiting for 7 Nov to get our move going. Tomorrow the kids and I are heading back to Wichita to tie any loose ends and say “see ya later” to all the family...BOO. Like I said we are ready to have our own space and be together but I REALLY LOVE our family and will cherish this summer forever.
I would like to give a special thanks to the Mikat's and the Heida’s for opening your homes to us and really from the bottom of my heart thank you! You are both Military families and understand how important it is to finally have to have the chance to be with your family and without you both I would still be in Wichita without my hubby!

Limboing transition!
Back in December we found out that KC was gonna cross train spending several weeks in Wichita falls(Shepard AFB) and then a few somewhere else, a place unknown. A few months later we got notice that housing was going to FINALLY demolish our home sometime this summer and wanted us to move out by May. This worked well for our plan!(when we moved in they said a year or so...not 5) So we put plans in to motion to put our belongings in storage and the kids and I will stay with my parents while KC is in TX.A few weeks ago he was informed that he is going to Ft. Sam Houston not Shepard.
Last weekend we were so blessed to have a group of people from our church come to help us move out of our house and into a storage unit. We were also so VERY VERY blessed to have friends that allowed us to stay in their home.
Now with all that being said, KC still does not have orders! Without orders he can't do anything. His orders could have 1,2 or 3 locations on then. I am PRAYING that all 3 locations are included so we know where we are going in October/November. It would have been great to know and we could have gone TDY in transit and been totally out of Offutt and not have to come back. As it is KC will have to come back and out process the base then people will have to move our stuff out of storage then take it where ever we are going, that is a job I do not envy! The whole moving thing really sucks and I will NEVER do it on my own again if I can! That is SO SO SO much work. We have so much STUFF! When ever we get where we are going I will purge A lot MORE of our stuff, we filled a 25X10 storage unit FULL. Anyway KC is supposed to get his orders Monday the 2nd and it cant come soon enough!
I also just wanted to tell everybody that have helped us THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH! The Mikat's, Salvati's, Hieda's, Emmaus bible church, Suzzette and so many more that have just been AMAZING in our time of limboing transition! God has surely shown his grace and we have truely been served by the body of Christ, Thank you!

More snow
We are at a whopping 7degrees today and we are supposed to get several inches of snow starting in about an hour. Poor KC is working nights this month and we all HATE IT, next month he is working days and in March he is working 2nd shift. Lets be real, it sucks!
Last weekend Abi and I took a road trip to Columbia Mo to see Aunt Claudia, Uncle Dan, and their son Casey. We met my mom, sister from Wichita and Aunt Kris and cousin Shelly from Pratt. We got to go through her sewing collection! It was LOTS of fun, and the guys cooked for us and are GREAT cooks. We really need to get together more!
We have so much going on this year and my two goals are to keep a better handle on cleaning the house and managing our money in a manner that is pleasing to God. SO as I traveled Dave Ramsey read to all the there and back,he is FUNNY!!! I listened to "Total Money Make Over" and "Financial Peace University" I also have been reading the site flylady.net she has wonderful tips routine and details in keeping a house clean ALL the time!
We got an "eviction survey" as my neighbor called it(paper asking about our status so the housing office can place us accordingly). The housing wants everybody out of my area by the end of April because they could start demoing as soon as May. So that means since we are being forced to move they will move us, with everything going on looks like housing will pack us and move us to a storage unit in April/May. Then in OCT assuming we are going to a new base the military will unpack/repack everything(for accountability) and take us to wherever we go. If we don't move to a new then we will find a house here and move ourselves out of a storage unit.
Keep us in your prayers during the time of preparing for major several transition.
